CNTRC Finishes 2007 With a Donation to the
New Asbury Park Mounted Patrol Unit
December 21st,
2007
CNTRC board members recently braved a windy, rainy day to present
members of the new Asbury Park Police Mounted Patrol Unit, both
officers and their mounts, with a donation for $1000. CNTRC
President, Eileen Petruch along with board members, Lisa Singer,
Susan Maizel and Julie Richards met with Asbury Park Police Chief
Mark Kinmon to kick off donations and raise awareness of this much
needed organization in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Susan Maizel
found out about this local patrol from her blacksmith, Jude Florio
who takes care of the mounted patrol horses. Presently there
are two mounted police officers, Mike Cassidy and Tony Butler and
two trusted mounts, but they are looking to expand their herd with
two more horses to enable schedule rotation and reduce wear and tear
on their hooves. CNTRC looks forward to continued support and
encouragement of this program. For more information, email
