Mission Statement
The Colts Neck Trail Riders Club (CNTRC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of horseback riding trails and open space in Colts Neck Township, Monmouth County and surrounding areas in New Jersey. CNTRC also campaigns to raise awareness for equine safety issues and supports equine-related charitable organizations.
About Us
CNTRC is sponsored by the Colts Neck Recreation Committee and donates proceeds from its public events to charitable organizations such as: Special People United to Ride (SPUR, a Monmouth County therapeutic riding program for children and adults with disabilities), ReRun, a Thoroughbred retraining and adoption organization, The Girl Scouts equestrian center at Camp Sacajawea, Monmouth County SPCA, Asbury Park Mounted Police, St. Judes Children's Research Hospital and various NJ Open Space and Farmland Preservation initiatives.
Each spring and fall, CNTRC holds hunter paces (timed rides in which the team that comes closest to the preset time wins) that are open to both members and non-members. In addition, CNTRC members are invited to attend group rides, beach rides, poker rides, campouts, and other fun social activities.
A quarterly newsletter keeps members informed of the club schedule and newsworthy equestrian events. Our membership has grown significantly over the years to include the following categories: Riding Adult, Riding Family, and Riding Junior, as well as Social memberships for those who wish to support the club but do not have a horse available to ride.
Officers and board of trustees are elected annually in the general meeting - they are responsible for the day-to-day decisions and organizing all club events. The club website is www.cntrc.org and email CNTRC Secretary for more information.
